Clyde – 2025 Edition Gnome Mug - SKU: FFC435
Introducing Clyde, a one-of-a-kind handmade mug from my 2025 series of Gnome Mugs. Crafted from a Toasted Speckled Stoneware clay which complements the characterful gnome design, each mug in this collection features its own distinctive moustache and beard style, along with a unique personality and name. No two gnomes are ever the same.
Dimensions
• Height: 87mm • Width: 86mm
• Weight: 342g • Capacity: 266ml
Each gnome mug begins its life on the wheel before being left to dry for a day. The foot is then trimmed, and an extruded handle is attached. The gnome’s beard and moustache are created using an air compressor with liquid slip, resulting in a beautifully textured and completely unique expression every time.
Hand building techniques follow: the nose is sculpted and added, and additional clay is carefully built up to form the gnome’s hat. This multi-stage sculpting process ensures each character has its own charm and individuality.
Once the form is complete, the mug is dried slowly for a week under plastic. It is then bisque-fired to 1000°C before glazing, which involves several hand-brushed layers to achieve depth and richness. A final glaze firing to 1220°C completes the piece. From start to finish, each mug takes around 3–4 weeks to create.
Limited 2025 Edition
Clyde is part of the 2025 Limited Gnome Edition—a special series, where every gnome is designed as a standalone character with its own name and story.
Due to the handmade nature of this range, slight variations in size, glaze, and sculpted features are part of what makes each mug wonderfully individual.

All these items are handmade either on Jeanette’s pottery wheel, hand built or a combination of both, all hand glazed by Jeanette with 100% love.
As they are handmade no pieces are the same and may have slight flaws or imperfections in the shape or glazing details. This is what makes them one of a kind, just like the person who will be using them.
The pictured piece is the best Jeanette could capture with her camera. Please take into consideration, this piece may look different if you are in different lighting.
